Before founding Fou furnishings® a luxury organic and Fairtrade linens company with a difference, Stephanie McIntosh had a career in retail. Increasingly aware of how our choices link to the human story behind the products, the shared environment and our wellbeing, Stephanie decided to design a sustainable supply chain from scratch. Her company now sells luxury organic cotton and wool bedding internationally to homes, boutique hotels, yachts and yoga retreats.
Fou furnishings® sources organic cotton for its linens from two well established Fairtrade and organic Indian projects. Organic cotton and wool bedding is also sourced from Italy and the UK, combining textile heritage with innovation to achieve the company’s signature quality, craftsmanship and original design. One of the few UK textile companies with dual organic and Fairtrade certification, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) mark lets you know that every stage of the product’s journey, from organic cotton, to Welsh wool to sewing is traceable.
